Featured Critter
Willow
Willow, a juvenile white dove, came to us covered in feces which made her appear green. She's now a gorgeous white, happy girl who loves her food. She's just starting to coo, after being completely silent for the first two weeks. Willow has learned "Step Up", and will now sit on me for up to 1/2 an hour at a time. She's also enjoying the ability to stretch her beautiful wings. To see other critters in need of homes, click the "Adoptable Critters" button above.

Adopt A Critter
New critters will be added to this page soon. Taking care of all the critters is time-consuming, and we often don't even get time to post their pictures before they're adopted! We take in new animals all the time, so please call us at (317) 585-9036, if there is a specific animal you are looking for. Odds are, we will have one in rescue. Please do contact us prior to going to a pet store. There are so many great animals in need of homes, and you could rescue one!
If you are interested in adopting a critter:
Please click the links for our Adoption Application and our
Adoption Contract.
Fill out both documents and mail them to A Critter's Chance, 11057 Allisonville Road, PMB431, Fishers, IN 46038. After receiving the information, we will contact
you to discuss the adoption. Please note, your application will be reviewed and references will be checked. It is very helpful to us if you can provide references
from your vet's office or other animal-related organizations. We also require a home visit. Submission of an application is not a guarantee of approval. We take great care
to place animals in homes that will be appropriate for the animal and the family it is going to. Please understand, our screening process is in place to assist
the animals and the families who adopt them. It is very disappointing to adopt a new pet, only to find out it does not suit your family. It is also difficult
for the animals to be moved from home to home due to failed adoptions. We screen well up front in an attempt to prevent future disappointments or problems.
Please note, you must be approved to adopt prior to meeting an animal. This saves us a great deal of time! If you would like to adopt an animal from us at some point in the future, please see the paragraph below in order to become pre-approved for adoption. This greatly expedites the adoption process when the animal you are looking for becomes available.
Become pre-approved to adopt!
If you think you may be interested in adopting one of our critters in the future, don't wait to submit your application and contract!
You can fill them out and mail them now. When we receive your information, we will call you to discuss the species of animal
you are interested in. At this time, assuming everything goes well with our screening process, we can put you on our pre-approved list of adopters.
When an animal comes to us that you are interested in adopting, the screening process is already complete. This speeds up the adoption process.
Please note, we DO NOT adopt out wildlife!! Native wildlife is released back into their natural habitat.
Wisdom (Female)
I was rescued as a kitten by the Indianapolis Humane Society. Then, this man came in, looking for someone to love him unconditionally, and he saw me! So... he adopted me! I felt lucky to have a home yet didn't know what kind of home I was going to. He loved me in his own way, yet, he had a horrible disease called addiction. With this disease going untreated, we moved a lot. We went back and forth: on his own, to his mom's home, then to a new girlfriend. There, I was introduced to dogs. I dealt with them, but let them know strongly I need my space! Then, that place did not work out for us, due to his choices, so we moved to another girlfriend's place. Here is where my story became scary! They both had this disease, and he abandoned me with her for six months. She decided to make up a story to tell Animal Control. She said I was very overweight and wouldn't go in the litter box, so she wanted to put me to sleep!
Thank goodness for microchips! My emergency contact was a friend, and she came to rescue me from my sentence of death at animal control! She saw I am only 9.05 lbs, which is not overweight. I DO use my litter box, and I am ten years old. At the FACE clinic, they remarked how healthy I looked! I received all my shots, and was tested for feline diseases. Yes, I am negative on them all! I went to see my vet, who my adoptive father had taken me to, and they remarked how good I look!
I know my Angel who saved me has enough animals, and she is being kind to help me find a home. I would prefer a home with my parent or parents. I really want someone to love and want me. I will be loving! I have had a rough ten years with someone who couldn't take care of himself! Please check me out if you would love to love me. I promise I would love you! By the way, I don't have my front claws, and, when you pick me up, I keep my back claws in! I am an Indoor cat only! Hope you are my next parents!

Willow (Female) Willow was rescued from the Berwyn hoarding case (story on our home page). Here is what her foster mom has to say about her:
Willow, a juvenile white dove, came to us covered in feces which made her appear green. She's now a gorgeous white, happy girl who loves her food. She's just starting to coo, after being completely silent for the first two weeks. Willow has learned "Step Up", and will now sit on me for up to 1/2 an hour at a time. She's also enjoying the ability to stretch her beautiful wings. She's made huge progress!
Emma & Ella (Females) Emma and Ella were also rescued from the Berwyn hoarding case. Here is what their foster mom has to say about them:
Emma and Ella are two doves who came to us with only a few neck feathers. With a good diet, the feathers have started to grow back. Although still frightened, they no longer panic when we feed them. In fact, these girls love food as much as I do!
Sweetie (Female) Sweetie needs a very special caretaker. She is mostly blind but can see shadows. She was that way when her foster mom got her around five years ago. We don't know her exact age, but we guess she is between 15 and 20. It is not known whether she is broke to ride, we have never tried. She is a wonderful, gentle, sweet mare that loves to be brushed and loved on. She is fat, healthy, and not a hard keeper. She will need a farrier with patience to trim her.
Ferrets (Males) These two charming guys are around three years old. They were surrendered by their owner and are looking for a loving home.
Sasha This beautiful little girl is Sasha, a DEW, or dark eyed white. She is a year and a half, very active and feisty. She has a whole dance routine, so clear the stage for her to perform! She and Teeka are a bonded pair and will be adopted together. She is healthy and up-to-date on her vaccines.
Darami Darami is a beautiful chocolate sable, but a bit shy with new people. Once she warms up, she is very affectionate, but does not like other ferrets and will be adopted singly. She is also quite a lady, and never misses her litter box! She is waiting for someone to take her home and spoil her rotten.
